Freestone Capital Management Launches Unified Managed Account Program on the Vestmark Platform

Wakefield, MA - October 16, 2008 - Vestmark, the leading innovator in the managed accounts platform solutions market, today announced that Freestone Capital Management has successfully implemented the Vestmark Managed Accounts Platform (VMAP) to manage their new Unified Managed Account (UMA) program.

"When we began researching UMA solutions to offer our clients, we expected that we would have to outsource the overlay technology" said Becky Wilcox, CFA, Vice President of Portfolio Management at Freestone. "However with Vestmark, we found that we could bring the overlay technology in house, allowing us to leverage our existing operational expertise and retain greater control over the entire UMA client experience."

Gary Smart, CFA, Director of Portfolio Management at Freestone added, "The Vestmark technology solution gives us greater flexibility in working with our investment managers. We are able to coordinate directly with them as they implement their investment and trading strategies. We think that this added flexibility will be key in attracting great investment managers that otherwise might not be willing to participate in a more rigid, third party overlay structure. In the end, this will be of great benefit to our clients."

"VMAP is uniquely capable of being tailored to fit Freestone's vision and holistic approach to wealth management," said Rob Klapprodt, President of Vestmark Software. "Freestone is a great business partner and joins the strong, growing community of Vestmark UMA clients and innovators in the industry."
